Question 6959: MR MARSH LEFT AN ESTATE AMOUNTING TO 24,000. ACCORDING TO HIS WILL ,10% WAS TO BE GIVEN TO A COLLEGE, 15% TO A CHURCH AND THE REMAINDER WAS TO BE DIVIDED EQUALLY AMOUNG 3 NEICES. HOW MUCH MONE DID EACH NIECE RECEIVE?
DO YOU MULTIPLY BOTH PERCENTS BY 24,000 FIRST?

so 25% went to non-nieces...nieces got 75%. There were 3 of them, so each got 25%.

25% of 24000 means (25/100)*24000 --> 6000
