first we must figure out how many students are business majors. We do this by multiplying:
40 (students) x .80 (percentage of business majors) = 32 students are business majors

subtracting we can figure out how many are not business majors
40 students - 32 business majors = 8 non- business majors

Now we move onto the exam
to figure how many business majors that passed the exam we multiply again:
24 passed exam x .75 percentage of business majors = 18 business major students passed the exam

subracting we figure out how many non-business majors passed
24 passed exam - 18 business majors who passed = 6 non-business majors who passed the exam

Now for the last part:
To figure out what percentage of students in the class who are not business majors passed the exam we divide:
6 non-business majors who passed the exam divided by 8 non-business major students in the class = .75 or otherwise known as 75%
