Question 558284: John paid $4760 for a washing machine after a discount of 15%. What was the original price. I am convinced that I am not adding 15% to 4760 as that would not be the discount from the original price, but I cannot see how to figure out the original price.....help me please
Answer by J2R2R(94) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If John received a 15% discount then 85% of the full price is $4760.
Therefore the full price is $4760 x 100/85 = $5600
Check:
15% of $5600 = $840
$5600 - $840 = $4760
