Hi Lyn,
I have a pie chart where 40% at the top is second day air freight, on the bottom 45% for truck and next day air freight is 15%
:
If the company shipped a total of 550 items last month, how many were shipped using second-day air freight?
:
The percentage of seconday air is 40%=40/100=.4
If we multiply the percentage by the total number of items that were shipped we'll have how many were shipped second day air:
That's reasonable because 220 is a little less than half or 50% of 550. You can check by seeing if 220 is 40% of 550:
*100%=40% We're right!!!
Happy Calculating!!!
