Question 537077: how to find percentage for pie charts?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you take the ratio of the data to the total and apply that ratio to 360 degrees.
example:
1/8 of the data equals 360/8 = 45 degrees.
3/8 of the data equals (3*360)/8 = 135 degrees.
1/2 of the data equals 360/2 = 180 degrees.
see the picture shown below.
$$$$$
as can be seen in the picture, the area of the circle represent by:
A is equal to 1/8 * 360 = 45 degrees
B is equal to 3/8 * 360 = 135 degrees.
C is equal to 1/2 * 360 = 180 degrees.
