Question 26052: About 3% more boys than girls are born each year out of 100 babies. How many are boy and how many are girls?
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let "x" be the number of girls born in a year.
Then number of girls will be x+3%x=1.03x
EQUATION:
#of girls + #of boys =100
x + 1.03x=100
2.03x=100
x= 49.26
You have to round this off to 49 girls and 51 boys in 100.
