Nathan bought a set of in-line skates for $29.40. They were 25% off the original price. What was the original price? Draw a diagram to help solve the problem.
--------------
$29.40 is the remaining 75% after 25% off, = 3/4 of the original price.
29.40 = 0.75x
x = 29.40/0.75
x = $39.20
-------------
I can't think of any diagrams that might help.
