60% are paperback, therefore 9000 books are paperback.
40% are hard cover, therefore 6000 books are hard cover.
30% of all books are nonfiction, therefore 4500 books are non-fiction.
2500 of the nonfiction books are paperback.
therefore, 2000 of the nonfiction books are hard cover.
6000 hardcover books minus 2000 nonfiction books leaves 4000 hardcover books that are fiction.
