Answer by addingup(3677)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-0.1x+0.8x = 1000
x-0.9x = 1000
0.1x = 1000
x = 10000

His income is indeed:
However, the following that someone else has makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE, and DOES NOT EQUATE to an answer of Rs. 10,000.
x-0.1x+0.8x = 1000
x-0.9x = 1000
0.1x = 1000
x = 10000
I don't even know where 1,000 came from, and my 4th grader knows that x - 0.1x + 0.8x DOES NOT and will never EVER sum to 0.1x.
I really don't know what some people are doing in this forum, since they obviously cannot manage to provide correct help to SIMPLE, SIMPLE problems.
