discounted price would be 7.80 - .15 * 7.80 which is equal to (1 - .15) * 7.80 which is equal to .85 * 7.80 which is equal to 6.63.

the difference is 7.80 - 6.63 = 1.17.

1.17 / 7.80 is equal to .15 which is equal to 15% of 7.80.
