Question 1020108: I would like some help on this problem my teacher did not show us how to find the discount. A pair of sneakers, regularly priced at A $ 84, is on sale for 20% off. What is the discount? What is the sale price?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Take 20% of $84 to get...
20% of 84 = (20/100)*84 = 0.20*84 = 16.80
So you will save $16.80 and the final price will be 84 - 16.80 = 67.20

Answers:
What is the discount? $16.80 (this is the amount you save, ie the amount you don't spend)
What is the sale price? $67.20 (this does NOT include taxes)
