If I earn 60% more than you, then you must earn 37.5% less than me.

When you deal with percentages, I urge my students to use the number 100 as often as possible...
If I earn $100, you would be earning 60% more, or $160.
I am earning $60 less than you, and $60/$160 = .375 or 37.5% less...

If I make x dollars, you make 16/10 more than I do.
That means I make 5/8 of what you do, and that is 3/8 less than you make, and 3/8=37.5%.
