Finding the percen of increase and decrease is very simple. all you do subtract the new amount from the old amount, then divide that answer by the old amount,then you multiple all that answer by 100. make sure when you do the first step in your calculater (or on paper) that you put the new amount subtracted from the old amount in parentheses. For example: if you have a problem that reads food from $225 to $189, you should do (189 minus 225)divided by 225 times ioo. That is what your problem should look like. If you are woundering where the ioo came from in the problem, It is a rule that you always multiply by ioo.
