Sums of logarithms are easy to deal with. Some rules:
  • -log(a, x) = log(a, 1/x ). OR: to get rid of the minus sign, replace x with 1/x
  • b*log(a, x) = log(a, x^b ). OR: to get rid of factor b in front of a logarithm sign, take x to the power of b

  • Express this with everything under logarithm. Example -2log(2,5) would be equivalent to -2*log(2,5)
Note: this is for ONE term only, not for sums of logarithms!
