Question 228085: I am having a bit of difficulty understanding some basic logarithmic equations, whilst i understand the more complicated ones.
I am confused in the use of brackets in the following question:
log(x-6) - log2 = log(x+2) - log3
When I attempted this question I expanded the brackets so that the equation was
logx - log6 = logx + log2 - log3
however when i tried to work this through, I couldnt work out the answer.
It would be great to receive some help as the textbook doesn't explain the use of brackets and i have an exam in a few days!

Question 230613: My problem is: solve log(x^2+3)=log(x+6) There is no log base, so do I set the ( )= ( )? Can this be worked on a graphing calc. TI-83 plus? If so, how do I enter it. I know where the log button is and y=button. Thank you. I'm trying to learn.

(4). the number of people N(t) that buy particular product 1/2 days after a group of 1000 people. The product is given by N(t)=1000/1+999e^0.39t, how any people buy the product after 20 days, that is t=20
How many days does it take for 800 people to buy the product and will 1000 people ever buy the product, here calculate the t.
