Tickets for a concert were sold to adults for $3 and to students for $2. If The total receipts were $824 and twice as many adults tickets as students tickets were sold, then how many of each were sold?

Question 142770: We just started Log word problems,could you help me with a couple I'm having trouble with?
1) This one is titled Compound Interest
How much more interest could $500 earn in 5 years, compounded semiannually, if the annual interest rate were 5 1/2% instead of 5%?
2)This one is titled Decibel Voltage Gain
An amplifier produces an output of 17 volts when the input signal is 0.03 volt. Find the decibel voltage gain.
3)This one is titled Population Doubling Time
A town's population grows at the rate of 12% per year. If this growth rate remains constant, how long will it take the population to double?
4)This one is titled Population Doubling Time
How ling will it take the population of the town in problem #3 to triple?
5)This one is titled Richter Scale
An earthquake with a period of 1/4 second has an amplitude of 2,500 micrometers.Find its measure on the Richter scale.

Question 142795: Could someone please help me with a few log word problems?
1)An earthquake has an amplitude of 5,000 micrometers and a period of 0.2 second.Find its measure on the Richter scale.
2)An earthquake with a period of 1/4 second has an amplitude of 2,500 micrometers. Find its measure on the Richter scale.
The formula for these two problems is: R = Log A/P R - means richter scale, A- means amplitude of earthquake,and P- means length of time that it last

Question 142867: 1.) Solve for x
x=log5 4 square root symbol 25 the 4 is inside the V of the square root symbol
2.) log2 2 square root symbol (3/5)
3.) Solve log3 X = (1/81)
Hope you understand what i am trying to say as it's hard without being able to type the square root symbol.
