Question 983382: The component of v = 260i + 300j represent the respective number of gallons of a regular and
premium gas sold at a gas station. The components of w = 2.50i +2.65j represent the respective
price per gallon for each kind of gas. Find the dot product V * W and describe what the answer
means in practical terms.

 Dot Product:
If V = and W =
Then V dot W = a*c + b*d
V dot W = 260*2.50 + 300*2.65
V dot W = 650 + 795
V dot W = 1,445
The dot product 1,445 represents the total cost of buying both types of gas (260 gallons of regular and 300 gallons of premium)
The 650 represents the total cost for just the regular gas.
The 795 represents the total cost for just the premium gas.
