Question 957671: log8^(sqrt x-5)=1/3
Answer by lwsshak3(11628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log8^(sqrt x-5)=1/3
log(8^√(x-5)=1/3
convert to exponential form
10^(1/3)=8^(√(x-5)
take log of both sides
1/3 log10=√(x-5)log8
1/3=√(x-5)log8
1/3log8=√(x-5)
square both sides
1/(3log8)^2=x-5
x=1/(3log8)^2+5
x≈5.1362
