Question 92376: e^(2x)-e^x=2, Solve for x
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
e^(2x)-e^x-2=0, Solve for x
-----------
It's a quadratic; factor it:
(e^x-2)(e^x+1)=0
e^x = 2 or e^x=-1
Take the natural log to get:
x = ln2 or x=ln(-1)
x = ln2 is the only solution as x=ln(-1) does not exist.
