Question 920477: Im not sure how to start this problem. I think some factoring may be involved but im just not sure. Thank you in advance.
Log (4p+5)=2+ log p

Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Log (4p+5)=2+ log p, then
subtract log(p) from both sides of =
Log(4p+5) - log(p) = 2
apply logarithm rule of subtraction
log((4p+5 / (p)) = 2
definition of logarithm, note that the base is 10
(4p+5) / p = 10^2 / 1
cross multiply fractions
100p = 4p + 5
96p = 5
p = 5/96 = 0.052083333 approx 0.05
