Explain how the functions of exponents and logarithms relate to each other.

logs ARE exponents
----------------------
When you multiply numbers to the same base you add the exponents
when you take the log of a product you add the logs of the factors
--------------------
When you divide numbers to the same base you subtract the exponents
When you take the log of a quotient you subtract the log of the denominator
from the log of the numerator
