Question 867193: f(x)=3x+4
a) Determine whether the function is one-to-one
B) If it is one-to-one, find a formula for inverse

Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a) f(x) = 3x +4
this function is 1-1 with domain and range the real numbers, R
the graph confirms each member in the domian is associated with a unique member in the range

b) y = 3x+4
x = (y-4) / 3
now interchange the x and y
y = (x-4) / 3
f'(x) = (x-4) / 3
