Question 848885: An advertising agency conducted a survey and found that the number of units sold, N, is related to the amount a spent on advertising (in dollars) by the following formula:
N = 5,500 + 200 ln a (a ≥ 1)
How many units are sold after spending $1,000? (Round your answer to the nearest whole number.)
________ units

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
N = 5,500 + 200 ln a (a ≥ 1)
How many units are sold after spending $1,000? (Round your answer to the nearest whole number.)
N(1000) = 5500 + 200*ln(1000)
N(1000) = 5500 + 200*6.908 = 6882 units when rounded up
----
Note: That doesn't sound right. Did you post the problem correctly?
Nobody could sell 6000 units when they spend only $1000 to advertise.
