This is what I did: First I wrote it a single logarithm. To do that I multiplied (x + 7) and 3 to get: . Then I converted it to exponential form: . 3 to the power of 3 is 9, then I just solved from there. 9 - 21=-12 and then -12/3=-4. But after inputting -4 into the original equation for x, I don't come up with 2 on both sides. Does that mean they aren't equal?
