Question 820445: could someone help me solve for x, when x=log(1/2) 8 sqrt 2
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
solve for x, when x=log(1/2)[8 sqrt(2)]
------
x = log1/2(8sqrt(2))
-----
base = 1/2
log = exponent = x
result = 8*sqrt(2)
======================
(1/2)^x = 8sqrt(2)
-----
2^-x = 2^3*2^(1/2)
---
2^-x = 2^(7/2)
---
-x = 7/2
x = -7/2
