: I would like a solution to how it is done to evaluate each expression:
-2+ 1n e^3. I do know the answer is 1 (from the back of my text book's answers to the problem), but the log calculator on this web site had the answer as 0 because it was needed 0 divisions to get to 1. Please explain .

Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-2+ 1n e^3.
-------------
You have to know that lne^x = x
Why?
Well, ln means log(base e)
So lne^3 means log(base e) e^3, and that log is 3
---
Wow, that was a mouthful.
Anyway, for your problem:
-2 + lne^3
= -2 + 3
=1
