Question 80371: I would like a solution to how it is done to evaluate each expression:
log of 3 with the square root of 3. I do know the answer is 1/2 (from the back of my text book's answers to the problem), but the log calculator on this web site had the answer as 0 because it was needed 0 divisions to get to 1. Please explain . My question is written below
___
log _/3
3
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log of 3 with the square root of 3.
------------
log(base 3) sqrt3 = 1/2
Why?
log means exponent and 3^(1/2) = sqrt3
Notice that the exponent is 1/2; that's why the log is 1/2.
