Question 738598: I am having trouble entering my problem into my calculator. I am doing logarithmic and natural logarithmic problems. How would I enter x=e^-6 minus 4 divided by 3? I do not have the symbol ^ on my calculator. Is there another way to enter this problem?
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Look for the button or key.

Press these buttons or keys: [6], [(-)], [], [-], [4],[=],
then maybe wait 2 or 3 seconds for the calculator to respond,
and then continue: [÷], [3], [=].

You should see the answer, very near or equal to -1.3325071, depending on how well your calculator handles the accuracy.

Note that the negation key might be shown labeled as [(+/-)] instead of [(-)].
Note also, my key or button sequence given is based on a typical old style electronic handheld scientific calculator, not a graphing calculator.
