log2(5x + 2) = 4

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log2(5x + 2) = 4

Use the definition of a logarithm which states that the
logarithm equation is equivalent to the
exponential equation .

Therefore your logarithm equation is equivalent to this
exponential equation:

5x + 2 = 24
5x + 2 = 16
    5x = 14
     x =  or 2.8
