Question 71591: 0.3^1+x= 1.7^2x-1
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
0.3^(1+x)= 1.7^(2x-1)
Take the log of both sides to get:
(1+x) log 0.3 = (2x-1) log 1.7
log0.3 + x(log0.3) = 2x(log1.7) -log1.7
x(log0.3-2log1.7)= -(log0.3+log1.7)
x= -(log0.3+log1.7)/(log0.3-2log1.7)
x= 0.2924../-0.98378...
x= -0.2972522699...
