a) Solve for the growth rate.
n(t) = ab^t
----
540 = ab^-3
720 = ab^-1
------
Divide to solve for "b":
4/3 = b^2
b = 2/sqrt(3)
----
Solve for "a":
720 = a(sqrt(3)/2]
a = 1440/sqrt(3)

Equation:
n(t) = [1440/sqrt(3)][2/sqrt(3)^t
b) Solve for the initial population.
n(0) = 1440/sqrt(3) = 831 when rounded down.
