Question 691579: e^(5x-1)+3=4
What are the proper steps in solving this problem?

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
e^(5x-1)+3=4
Subtract 3 from both sides:
----
e^(5x-1) = 1
Take the natural log of both sides
----
5x-1 = ln(1)
Evaluate ln(1)
---
5x-1 = 0
Add 1 to both sides
--------------------
5x = 1
Divide both sides by 5:
--------------------
x = 1/5
