Find the common logarithm by using the calculator. 1.174^-4

You can simplify it first, then find the log:
1.174^-4 =~ 0.526414 --> -0.278672
---------
Or, find log(1.174) and multiply it by -4
= -4*0.0696681
= -0.278672
