Question 631667: Solve the equation.
1) 4 ^x = 9 ^(1 - x)
Answer by nerdybill(7384) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4^x = 9^(1 - x)
take the log of both sides:
log 4^x = log 9^(1 - x)
xlog 4 = (1 - x)log 9
xlog 4 = log 9 - xlog 9
xlog 4 + xlog 9 = log 9
x(log 4 + log 9) = log 9
x = log 9/(log 4 + log 9)
x = 0.6131
