Question 610307: log(base 5)(x+4)=2
Answer by AnlytcPhil(1806)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
     log5(x + 4) = 2

Learn the definition rule carefully for writing a
log equation as an exponential equation and vice-versa:

           This log equation:

         logB(A) = C

           is by definition equivalent to this exponential equation

               A = BC

Using this definition rule,

     log5(x + 4) = 2

becomes:

           x + 4 = 52

           x + 4 = 25

               x = 21
