How do I graph y=log4 x+3
Draw the basic log function first:
It has the y-axis as an asymptote and an x-intercept at 1.
This is true for any base.
When x<1, the log function rapidly increases negatively as it approaches the asymptote.
When x>1, the log function increases positively more slowly as it approaches the +infinity.
Plotting a few points on either side of x=1 with a calculator will give you a good idea what the curve looks like. For log base 4, use the change of base formula. And finally,bump the y-coordinates 3 units up to get the final given curve.
