Question 594901: express log(x/1000) as the difference between a logarithm and a counting number
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log(x/1000)

log(x)-log(1000)

log(x)-log(10^3)

log(x)-3*log(10)

log(x)-3*1

log(x)-3

So log(x/1000) expands out to log(x)-3
