Question 556922: What is the solution to the equation log 2 x – log 2 4 = 2

Answer by TutorDelphia(193)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We need to use the log rule that log a (x/y)= log a x - log a y
Therefore this equals log 2 x/4 =2
We know that log 2 4 = 2 ( because 2^2=4. So we know x/4=4 so x=16
And if we try this, log 2 16 - log 2 4=2
4 - 2 =2
