I think what you mean is solve
So we need to isolate the x. Notice how we cannot just multiply 10 and 0.35 as this is breaking the rules of BEDMAS. Instead I will divide both sides by 10 to attain:
Now a general rule to remember is if you have a variable in the exponent that you are trying to solve for, take logs of both sides :
The reason we do this is we have a rule that says
Using this rule we can bring the exponent x down to leave
And now dividing both sides by log(0.35) we get:
