Notice that the coefficients add up to zero.
That means f(1) = 0
That means x = 1 is a root.

Now use synthetic division to find the "other" factor:

Quotient: 3x^2-2x-8
Factor:
(3x+4)(x-2) = 0
x = -4/3 or x = 2
