Question 503492: i need help with 3 + log(2x+5)=2.... can you show me step by step and explain it to me please?
Answer by lwsshak3(11628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 + log(2x+5)=2
solving for x
log(2x+5)=2-3=-1
convert to exponential form: base(10) raised to log of number(-1)=number(2x+5)
10^-1=2x+5
1/10=2x+5
20x+50=1
20x=-49
x=-49/20
Check:
3+log(2*49/20+5)
3+(-1)=2
