Question 480435: Do the following experiment
Part A
Create a chart like the one shown two columns of values starting with a in the left hand column
toss Coins
0 Starting number of coins
1 Coins left after first toss
2 Coins left after second toss
b) find a number of coins ( at leats 20). Place this number in the right hand column.
c) Place the coins in a paper cup, shake them, and toss them onto a tabletop
d) Remove any coins that are heads up. Count the remaining coins.
e) place this value in the right hand column
f) repeat the process until all the coins are eliminated.
Part B
State an equation that best fits the results (use n to represent the number of the toss)
Partc
Why does this experiment stimulate the half- life of radioactive decays? State an exponential equation that best fits the result.( use n to represent the number of the toss)
Part d
State the exponential equation that would predict the number of remaining coins if you began with N° coins

I did this experiment in a physics class once. The graph of #coins/trials should represent some form of exponential decay (more or less) because after each trial, roughly half the coins are removed. If N is the number of coins and x is the number of trials, then the number of coins after x trials is roughly
