Question 479568: Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble finding out a few things about the graph of y = Log6^x . My teacher is asking me to find:
1. The Equation of the vertical asymtote
2. The X-Intercepts
3. The Range.
4. The Domain.
5. Is it increasing or decreasing.
I been trying for almost a day now to figure this out and I'm at a loss at how you find all of this with Log6^2. I'd really appreciate the help!

Answer by ccs2011(207)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
is this log base 6 or ??
If its the latter then you can rewrite it as .
This then becomes just a linear function with slope of .
But then the things you need to find don't make sense for a linear function.
I will now assume its : where log is base 6.
Now there are certain things about the log function you need to know:
1) Domain: x>0
2) log(1) = 0
3) Range: All real numbers
4) For x>1, log(x) > 0
For x < 1, log(x) < 0
5) log(0) is undefined or approaches negative infinity
These things are true for the function log(x) for any base.
These things should also help you answer your questions.
Use these guidelines and try to sketch the graph on your own.
Here is what the graph of (base 6) should look like:
