25. One minute after it is released, a gas-filled balloon has risen 100 ft.
In each succeeding minute, the balloon rises only 50% as far as it rose in the previous minute.
How far will it rise in 5 minutes
:
A simple formula
h = 100*1.5(t-1)
where
h = height after t min
t = no. of minutes
:
After 5 min
h = 100*1.5^(5-1)
h = 100*1.5^4
h = 100*5.0625
h = 506.25 ft
