Simplify.
log4 (0.5)
convert to exponential form: (base(4) raised to log of the number (x) = number (0.5)
4^x=.5
take log of both sides
x log(4)=log(0.5)
x=log (0.5)/log (4)=-0.5
ans:
log4 (0.5)=-0.5
in words: log of 0.5 base 4 is equal to -0.5
or 4 raised to -0.5 = 0.5
