Question 473893: Can you please help me solve this equation using a calculator and tell me the answer?
5^(x)=8^(2x-1)
Thank you.
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5^(x)=8^(2x-1)
x*log(5) = (2x-1)*log(8) = 2x*log(8) - log(8)
2x*log(8) - x*log(5) = log(8)
x(log(64) - log(5)) = log(8)
x*log(64/5) = log(8)
x = log(8)/log(12.8)
x =~ 0.81564
