Question 46943: Can someone help me please??...
the question asks to solve the eqaution for x
log(bottom side 3) 1/81 = x
can someone show me how to do this? thanks!!

Okay, we exponentiate both sides...as in "3 to the"...since it is to the base three...we get
log(bottom side 3) 1/81 = x
1/81 = 3^x
1/(3^4) = 3^x
since 81 = 3^4 and then
3^(-4) = 3^x
x = -4
