: solve system of equations
3x+2y=5
6x+3y=6
This question is from textbook COLLEGE ALGEBRA

Answer by mathchemprofessor(65)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Equation1->3x+2y=5
Equation2->6x+3y=6
On simplyfying equation2, we relate 3y=6-6x or y=2-2x
Substituting y=2-2x in equation 1, we get 3x+2(2-2x)=5
3x+4-4x=5, -x=5-4, -x=1, x=-1
So,y=2-2x=2-2(-1)=2+2=4
x=-1 and y=4
Verify the solution by substituting the values in equation2.
