Could someone explain to me the difference between a logarithm of a product and the product of logarithms and give examples of each.
Log of Product:
log(4*25) = log 4 + log 25 = 0.6 + 1.4= 2
The rule means "the exponent of a product is the sum of the exponents".
Product of Logs:
(log4)(log25) = 0.6(1.4) = 0.84
This means "the product of exponents is simply the product of exponents".
