Question 442983: 5 to the x power = 7 to the 3x-1 power (solve for X)
Answer by swincher4391(1107) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5^x = 7^(3x-1)
Take the ln of both sides.
Then xln(5) = (3x-1)ln(7)
Then 1 =(3x-1)/(x) ln(7)/ln(5)
1 = (3 - 1/x)ln(7)/ln(5)
ln(5)/ln(7) = 3 -1/x
ln(5)/ln(7) -3 = -1/x
Then
Or in decimal form: x = 0.46
